Snider Fleet Solutions has grown to be one of the largest service providers to the trucking industry. We’re now the 5th largest commercial tire dealer, and the 4th largest retreader.

We currently have 80 locations along major highways, and the number is growing. We’re 1400 employees strong, and independently owned and operated.

John H. Snider opened this tire shop in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1976. He put operating principles in place that have evolved with technology, but have never fundamentally changed. They’re focused on giving service—to our customers, to our community, and even to the whole planet.

We grew because we served our customers well—and because we committed ourselves to staying at the leading edge of developments in our industry, always finding innovative ways to improve our service even more.

A tire sales rep named John H. Snider had been calling on a General Tire location in Greensboro, North Carolina for years. When it became available, he purchased it from his customer and Snider Tire was born.


The company lands its first big customer for mounted tires, Chemical Leaman Tank Lines. (Many years later, this connection would grow into our innovative, multi-state TRACS distribution system).


Providing first rate service pays off, as we open locations in Cambridge, Ohio, Gesimar, Louisiana—and new ones in hometown Greensboro—to serve our growing mounted tire business.

Time for a new name—Snider Tire is born. 1987
With our fuel hauler tanker business booming, we purchase Mileage Specialists, a Houston-based operation. In addition, we open a new TRACS facility in Thomasville, Georgia. 1988
A new TRACS facility and a new corporate office established in Greensboro, NC. 1992
TRACS continues expansion, this time into Blytheville, AR; Commerce, GA; and Bluffton, IN. 1994-96
We build a brand new truck tire center in Greensboro. 1998
Expansion continues with the purchase of Cate McLauren in Columbia, SC, and the opening of a new commercial tire center in Charlotte, NC. 2000

The company purchases Western NC Bandag in Asheville.

We launch our foray into mechanical services, starting a division called Innovative Vehicle Services. As it grew, the name changed to Mechanex and was offered out of 40 locations. 2006
Our expansion of services continues with the introduction of the Industrial Tire Division. By 2016, this will grow into LiftLine, our national network of forklift tire service. 2007
Recognizing the quality of Michelin’s retread technology, the company converts to its MRT process—and purchases 10 TCI locations in NC, SC and GA. 2009
We purchase Consolidated Tire in Greenville, SC. 2010
We purchase Maness Tire in Rockingham, NC, and Dunn Tire in Dunn, NC. 2016
Innovation continues as we launch FleetSMART™, our proprietary information management system for fleet tire and mechanical services. 2016
A new burst of expansion, with the purchase of 27 TCI locations in six states. 2017
Our commitment to building the best team in the business is reinforced as we open Snider U, our dedicated training facility in Newton, NC. 2018
